Eumundi Drive-in: Dirty Dancing + Strickly Ballroom
Hosted by Starry Nights Outdoor Movies and The Imperial Hotel Eumundi...
Car numbers will be limited – with vehicles to be spaced at least two metres apart to ensure appropriate physical distancing.
Sound is transmitted via FM to car radios.
At this stage, we won’t be offering meals on site, but rather encouraging guests to bring a 'car picnic' or pre-order from The Imperial Hotel Eumundi. Pizzas and drive-ins go hand in hand, so think about ordering from the hotel (Ph: 5442 8811) and then picking it up on your way to the drive-in.
Social distancing should be observed at all times, with guests asked to remain in their cars unless absolutely necessary. Bathrooms on site will be monitored, and regularly cleaned and sanitised. Guests are also asked to take home what they bring as there will be no rubbish bins on site.
More about the movies:
DIRTY DANCING (M)
Set to the pulsating rock n roll songs of the early '60s, DIRTY DANCING is a romantic story about an awkward yet endearing 17 year old girl Baby (Jennifer Grey) who slips into womanhood during an eye-opening family vacation at a Catskill lodge in the summer of 1963. Caught up in the music and rhythm of the time, she falls in love with a charismatic working-class dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) who introduces her to the excitement of 'Dirty Dancing'.
STRICTLY BALLROOM (PG)
Scott Hastings (Paul Mercurio) is a champion ballroom dancer, but much to the chagrin of the Australian ballroom dance community, Scott believes in dancing "his own steps". Fran (Tara Morice) is a less experienced dancer and a bit of an ugly duckly who has the audacity to ask to be Scott's partner after his unorthodox style causes his regular partner to dance out of his life. Together, these two misfits try to win the Australian Pan Pacific Championships and show the Ballroom Confederation that they are wrong when they say, "there are no new steps!"
